The thought network, also known as the thought channel or the thought system was a wireless system of inaudible soundwaves used by Dragonstorm members to communicate with each other and ensure that nobody can listen in.
To connect to the thought network, the user must have a thought chip manually inserted into their cranium. After a night's sleep where the chip acclimates itself with your thought pattern, the user can connect to anyone else with a thought chip in range.
Thoughts sent sound like the voice of the sender in the reciever's head. Factors ike speed, emotions, or clarity are dependant on how clearly the sender focuses on his message. Pictures or music cannot be sent over the thought network, only the speaker's voice.
Users can send thoughts to specific individuals by concentrating on an image of them, or they can just send a message to everybody in range with a thougth chip.
Rudyard Shelton was one of the scientists who created the thought network, and has a thought chip which can listen in on thought messages which are not sent to him. He generally keeps this information a secret. (Disruptive Selection)
People with thought chipsEdit
Everybody in Dragonstorm has a thought chip. In addition, Rudyard Shelton took the chips from the five deceased members of DS-1 and inserted them into James Zanasiu, Shakila Brennan, Hans Donitz, Micah Landon, and Thomas Stern.
Aydin retained possession of his thought chip after defecting from Dragonstorm.
The members of Neku's team (Ryu Kagetora, Roy Hawkeye, Cale, Slash, and Agito) have had their psionic powers enhanced by Oruboros and can also access the thought network. Unlike users with thought chips, they can listen in on messages which are not sent specifically to them.
After Roux had her thought chip removed following her capture by James' team, Landon embedded her thought chip into Sharon Varma. Keith Bailey also has obtained a thought chip, though it is unknown how.
