Sallowroot was a white grass that grew on Gaman's moon. It could be brewed into a tea, or dried and smoked as a hallucinogen.
Sallowroot was not native to Vurna colony, so Werner often collected it to make tea when he took the shuttlecraft on monthly expeditions. Sophie often pillaged this supply to fuel her smoking habit.
Later, sallowroot turned out to be a naturally occurring antidote to the gate plague, due to containing the active ingredient fentacyamine. (Next of Kin)

- Due to its white color, Carol Smithson hypothesized that sallowroot did not contain chlorophyll, and gained nutrients from digesting dead plant matter. Steven Johnson hypothesized that sallowroot might actually be a fungus.
