Hughes Island was an archipelago in the Bahamas, between the United States and Cuba. The Iromish Tribe was situated there.
In 2033, James Zanasiu Jr, Malte Kerzach, and Florence Brennan took the S.S. Desnuda to the island, and met the Iromish Tribe. They scanned the potential bridge coordinates there, and left when they learned the coordinates were wrong. ("CS:The Man Who Was an Island")

- Hughes Island was named for Robert Hughes, main character of Miasmata, a video game involving being marooned on a tropical island.
- Junior later uses the island as inspiration for his fake name James Hughes.
